Iyengar Yoga

Iyengar Yoga is named after B.K.S. Iyengar, whose teaching emphasises alignment and precision in the practice of the yogasanas (postures) and pranayama (yogic breathing). Widely regarded as the world’s leading authority on yoga he practised and taught for over seventy years.


Iyengar Yoga Sussex (IYS) is an organisation of Sussex based teachers and students who study the Iyengar way of practising Yoga. It was established in 1992, and currently has about 100 members, including teachers in East and West Sussex.
